McNeilus zero radius automated side loaders available with 12-foot arm

McNeilus’ Zero Radius (ZR) full-eject automated side loader refuse vehicles are now available with an extended reach 12-foot arm for enhanced productivity.    

“Since its introduction, the McNeilus ZR has proven itself to be a premier zero radius automated side loader, with a well-earned reputation for performance, reliability, and low cost of ownership,” said Frank Busicchia, Vice President of Sales at McNeilus Truck & Manufacturing. “The development of the new extended reach arm was a true team effort.”   

The ZR-Series automated side loader has true zero-radius motion, for efficient operation on residential streets, narrow alleyways and cul-de-sacs. The simple arm is designed to reduce total cost of ownership by lowering maintenance costs and increasing efficiency and driver productivity. The smooth arm operation also improves driver comfort and dramatically reduces body sway and noise. Plus, the side-mounted arm reduces stress on the vehicle chassis.   

“The development and launch of the 12-foot arm was an ongoing project for the past year, and we’re very excited to have these units working in the field,” said Jerry Betz, McNeilus engineer on the project. “Despite its longer reach, the arm’s performance hasn’t been compromised.”
