LEGO and Mack Trucks launch electric refuse truck building set

Many people recall being fascinated by the refuse collection truck as children, with the waste collector standing on the back, working to keep our streets clean. Today, the trucks may look a bit different, but the iconic shape remains. Now Mack Trucks has collaborated with LEGO on a new building set inspired by Mack's electric refuse and recycling truck. 

A perfect gift for vehicle and Lego enthusiasts of all ages, this LEGO Technic Mack LR Electric Garbage Truck inspires imaginative play and is a great introduction to mechanical engineering for kids.

Inspired by the cutting-edge Mack electric refuse collection truck with realistic movement and features, when built, the truck includes a fully functional side-loading mechanism that can grab, lift and tip the included waste bins—just like the actual electric trucks working on our streets. The truck uses a realistic gear element to steer the truck into position, and also includes waste elements for sorting into appropriate bins.

LEGO is marketing the 503-piece set as a holiday gift idea for young engineers—and the young at heart—and eco-conscious builders. As part of LEGO's Technic sets, the Mack set features realistic details that introduce builders to engineering in an approachable way.
