Industrial compactor/baler for biomass and waste
Designed by the Norwegian company Orkel AS, the MP2000 Compactor is designed for industrial use in handling waste and recyclable materials, and to address storage, transportation and distribution of short fibre products specifically.
With the ability to compact a variety of materials up to 3:1, these compactors create four-foot high by four-foot wide bales weighing up to 2,000 pounds. The wrapped bales can then be transported on flat rail cars, by shipping container, or on flat bed trailers which transport two to three times more volume than enclosed yardage trailers. Wrapped bales can be stored outside, and keep materials viable for over 12 months. Although currently designed for transport to multiple sites, the MP2000 compactor can be set up for permanent use with a stationary engine or electric motor and PTO drive.
Units are computerized, fully automatic, and are capable of processing 30 to 40 tons of material per hour. Materials which respond well to this method of storage include shredded cardboard, shredded plastic, wood byproducts, corn stover, silage and other animal feeds, as well as composted animal manures.
