TC550 Trashmaster replaces 3-90E compactor
Designed to replace the 3-90E landfill compactor, the new Terex TC550 Trashmaster features a powerful Tier-3 compliant, 525- hp (391 kW) diesel engine and higher machine weight for more efficient compaction. Offering single pass, full-width coverage, the new TC550 boasts a base operating weight of 110,000 pounds (49,895 kg) and a very high PLI rating at 733 pounds, this high density compactor delivers extremely high compaction force.
Independent steering and blade hydraulic systems enhance blade operation while steering the new TC550, and a new intercooler package reduces heat for temperatures by 15 percent for a more reliable hydraulic system. A larger cooling package reduces hose deterioration and system leakage, while O-ring face seals on hydraulic connections greatly reduce the chance for leaky fittings. The Terex TC550 includes a new digital enunciator that greatly enhances machine serviceability. The engine’s oil dipstick has been raised by two feet for easier access, and a new rolling wire guard system and inner-space wheel design protects the planetary motors by significantly reducing wire wrap. New exhaust routing eliminates hot spots, while the eight-inch-thick walled exhaust pipe is 33-percent larger than previous versions.
