In celebration of Recycling Week, the Plastics Industry Association (PLASTICS) has released a new video as part of the Recycling is Real advocacy campaign. The video highlights advanced recycling efforts taking place at Eastman in Kingsport, Tennessee.

PLASTICS' Recycling is Real campaign highlights both mechanical and advanced recycling facilities across the United States. Each video showcases employees who represent the recycling industry and their work at various locations including Atlanta, Georgia; Madison, Wisconsin; North Vernon, Indiana; Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Portland, Pennsylvania; Eagle Rock, Virginia; Rialto, California; Wytheville, Virginia; Piqua, Ohio; Reidsville, North Carolina; Tampa, Florida; and Farmingdale, New York.

"As we celebrate Recycling Week, we're proud to show that recycling is real and happening every day," says Matt Seaholm, president and CEO of PLASTICS. "Thanks to advanced recycling technologies, it's possible to recycle more plastic than ever before. The Recycling is Real campaign highlights the people in our industry across America who work tirelessly to recycle valuable materials each day. We will continue to show the public and lawmakers that recycling is undeniable, and a feasible and economical way to achieve a more circular economy."

The Recycling is Real campaign provides content to help elected officials and policymakers understand the importance of recycling in sustainability and circularity. This information aims to support well-informed decisions about recycling resources for communities.

The Recycling is Real campaign was created to address misconceptions that recycling is not effective or that it is a "myth." Some groups advocate reducing or eliminating plastic production entirely. However, Recycling is Real demonstrates where and how recycling happens, and introduces the people who make it possible.
