Recycling Week highlights progress, innovations, and partnerships in plastic recycling
PLASTICS advocates for enhanced recycling efforts and sustainable systems across the U.S.
The Plastics Industry Association (PLASTICS) will celebrate Recycling Week from November 11-15, highlighting the industry's commitment to advancing recycling efforts across the United States. This weeklong observance offers an opportunity to spotlight the progress, innovations, and partnerships driving a circular economy for plastics.
"The plastics industry is committed to making plastic material more sustainable and supporting innovative recycling technologies that will improve recycling rates and ensure that plastics are repurposed effectively," says Patrick Krieger, vice president of sustainability at PLASTICS. "Recycling is not only possible; it's essential to creating sustainable systems that support a circular economy."
During Recycling Week, PLASTICS will work with industry stakeholders, policymakers, and the public to build a recycling infrastructure that benefits both the environment and the economy.
"Recycling Week reminds us that we all need to work together to increase recycling rates in America," said Matt Seaholm, president and CEO of PLASTICS. "By collaborating across industries, communities, and governments, we can enhance recycling infrastructure, promote innovation in materials recovery, and ensure that valuable materials are returned to the economy rather than ending up in landfills."
