TerraCycle acquires North Coast Services to tackle RCRA hazardous waste management
The acquisition will expand TerraCycle’s commercial recycling service offerings
TerraCycle has acquired North Coast Services, a New Hampshire-based company specializing in collection and recycling of universal waste, including electronics waste such as televisions, monitors, universal waste lamps, and batteries across New England.
"The acquisition of North Coast Services is an exciting next step in TerraCycle's journey to reduce waste," says Tom Szaky, founder and CEO of TerraCycle. "We entered the universal waste business in the U.S. in 2016 with the acquisition of Air Cycle Corporation, followed by Complete Recycling Solutions in 2023, both of which comprise the foundation of the TerraCycle commercial recycling division. With the addition of North Coast Services, we've gained a business known for excellent and versatile customer service, with recycling facilities that will complement and enhance our U.S. operations."
TerraCycle commercial recycling provides businesses with industrial recycling solutions for universal waste and other hard-to-recycle materials. The division supports companies in meeting regulatory requirements and achieving sustainability goals by managing complex waste streams, including electronics and hazardous materials.
Established in 2011, North Coast Services specializes in identifying and managing RCRA hazardous waste, as well as handling universal waste such as fluorescent lamps, batteries, Freon-bearing appliances, and other complex waste streams.
"TerraCycle is the perfect partner and shares our mission to provide state-of-the-art solutions for the recycling of universal waste," stated Tom Fatcheric and Billy Andrews, co-founders of North Coast Services. "Together, with our combined resources, we will have greater access to expand the reach of our platforms, expand our collective customer base, and provide even more comprehensive services to the businesses we serve."
