EDGE Innovate's new hybrid waste shredder offers indoor/outdoor versatility

A new option for environmentally conscious shredding, the new VS420E Hybrid from Edge Innovate uses new shredding technology, delivering high performance with a significantly reduced environmental impact.

Designed for zero emissions, the VS420E is ideal for indoor applications where air quality is a priority, and emissions must be minimized. Its emission-free operation makes it perfect for use inside facilities or in proximity to residential areas, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.

Using electric power reduces CO2 emissions, cutting its carbon footprint and reducing operating costs and maintenance requirements. The new unit combines the mobility of a diesel-driven unit with the environmental and operational advantages of a stationary electric shredder in one self-contained package. 

Replacing the conventional 310Kw Caterpillar engine with two 132KW electric motors, the VS420E delivers the same production capacity and torque as diesel/hydraulic units. A small 55Kw diesel engine provides mobility for tracking and setup functions, while an additional 11Kw auxiliary motor ensures full setup capabilities in both electric and diesel/hydraulic modes.

Designed to be quiet and efficient  

The Plug and Shred feature enables the VS420E's quick connection to the grid, reducing setup time and allowing for efficient operation. Edge's Intelligent Load Management and VS Status Alert System optimize shredder loading, ensuring high throughput while minimizing energy consumption and downtime.

The VS420E's throughput is powered by customizable two-metre-long, high-torque shredder shafts, designed to meet specific application requirements and produce the desired final product size. The unit has a broad range of tooling options and chamber configurations.
