Peterbilt Motors Company will showcase its full lineup of vehicles for the collection industry at WasteExpo from May 9 to 12 in Las Vegas.
On display in the Peterbilt booth are two Model 520s, Peterbilt's low-cab-forward collection vehicle, featuring easy bodybuilder integration as well as a 7" digital display in the instrument cluster with full PTO integration. Also on display is Peterbilt's new medium-duty Model 548 in a rear loader configuration. The new medium-duty lineup provides versatility and performance for all Class 5 to 8 applications.
Rounding out the booth are Peterbilt's battery-electric Class 8 offerings – the Model 520EV outfitted with an automatic side loader body and a Model 579EV in a day cab configuration.
The Model 579EV on display was funded as part of a $50 million grant obtained from the California Air Resources Board's Zero and Near Zero-Emission Freight Facility (ZANZEFF) program. ZANZEFF funds transform emissions reduction strategies at freight facilities throughout the state. The project is also part of the California Climate Investments, a statewide initiative that puts billions of Cap-and-Trade dollars to work reducing greenhouse gas emissions, strengthening the economy, and improving public health and the environment–particularly in disadvantaged communities.
