The Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) will host two half-day, virtual summits in place of the SOAR technical conference this June. The events will have afternoon sessions each day from 12:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. EDT in addition to on-demand sessions available throughout the conference. A networking event will take place at the end of each day from 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. EDT.

The Sustainable Materials Management Summit, taking place June 15, is designed to bring together recycling, organics recovery, and resource management professionals. Industry leaders will discuss new US EPA Recycling Goals, organics infrastructure, and how the public sector can move the needle on recycling. Featured speakers include Nena Shaw, U.S. EPA Acting Director for the Resource Conservation and Sustainability Division, to discuss EPA's strategy for moving beyond the National Recycling Strategy to implementation.

The Landfill Challenges Summit, taking place June 17, will bring together landfill, landfill gas, and biogas professionals from throughout the United States and Canada. Industry experts from the public and private sectors will discuss current and future challenges that are expected to impact landfill operations and landfill gas production, and what lessons can be applied as we move forward.
