New Way Introduces ROTO PAC
A Revolutionary Auger Automated Side Loader; The First In North America
New Way, a division of Scranton Manufacturing in Scranton, Iowa, brings a glimpse of the future in organics waste management with the introduction of the ROTO PAC to North America. This fully automated side-loader organics collection truck is the first mobile compactor with a leak-proof truck body that packs with the rotary action of an auger instead of a traditional packing panel.
The auger is self-cleaning and eliminates the down time needed to clean out behind the packer ram at the end of each day. The auger can produce up to 23,000 lbs. of torque at idle speed, and is equipped with an auto reverse cycle in the event of a jam.
"We are excited to introduce this incredible new organics refuse truck, the first one of its kind in the United States," said New Way president, Michael McLaughlin. "The ROTO PAC has amazing capabilities that will enhance the efficiency of any waste management business."
ROTO PAC has been designed with a collection body that works equally well with organic materials, such as food waste or grass clippings, or municipal solid waste (MSW), increasing the versatility of the 27-yard body with the best legal payload in the industry of 25,000 lbs.
"This duality of uses in one machine truly is purpose perfected," McLaughlin said. "One day, it can be used for collection and compaction of organics, the next day, it can be used to pick up MSW. There is nothing else that can cross over this seamlessly to meet a community's waste management needs."
In addition, ROTO PAC's automated arm can lift up to 500 lbs at its maximum reach of 144 inches. Once the waste is deposited in the hopper, the ROTO PAC will reliably pack 1,000 lbs. per cubic yard and will remain liquid tight up to 40 inches. A tapered body design to enhance dumping and hot-shift PTO that powers Danfoss double piston pumps for the arm and auger allow for simple operation and maintenance.
"Everything about ROTO PAC is designed with a purpose, including functionality, performance, versatility and precision," McLaughlin added. "There is better compaction, the highest hopper to body displacement in its category, easier unloading and maneuverability in tight spaces. Add to that the ability to easily adapt from organics to MSW and an auger system that streamlines operation and labor costs, and you have the most innovative organics collection vehicle on the market today."
New Way will be featuring ROTO PAC at Wastecon in Dallas, Texas, August 26 through August 28, at booth 1929. For more information contact New Way at 800-831-1858
