Wastequip has redesigned its most popular baler – the 6030HD – resulting in a feature-rich unit with a 27.5-inch feed opening, enhanced functionality and a 12 percent reduction in price.
The enhanced baler’s feed opening is the largest in the industry, according to Wastequip – which makes loading large cardboard boxes easier – yet the overall unit remains 96 inches high.
This redesigned baler also features a 45-second cycle time, an ejection plate that is more robust than ejection chains, and built-in fork lift pockets for easier and safer transportation. In addition, oil and temperature gauges have been sighted at eye level so that operators can more closely monitor oil volume, cleanliness and temperature. The 6030HD baler includes front and rear retaining teeth to stabilize the bale and increase the density, and provides low temperature oil for a wider temperature operating range as well as an outdoor protective paint finish for long-lasting protection against oxidation and rust.
“All of the improvements to our 6030HD are designed to encourage increased recycling by retailers, manufacturers and any other organizations with high volumes of waste,” said Kirk Warren, technical products manager for Wastequip.
At Waste Expo this year (2010), Wastequip featured a broad array of new products, in addition to their new baler, including: a loaded container hauler for highway transport; a bear-resistant cart; radio frequency enhanced collection systems; a 21-gallon cart for single stream recycling; a new e-commerce site for replacement parts, and an upgraded compactor.
